New Painting

My Artist Statement: ”Shapes and patterns that seem boring in their ordinary appearance hold mystery for me. They’re at home, in an urban environment or nature. Through repeating habits they get stuck in my mind and body. Abstracted, they’re central, presenting themselves in color and material. Altogether they’re determined, obsessive, heavy hearted and humorous.”

Kusama, Hanazawa and Hashimoto

Takeo Hanazawa

Yayoi Kusama is one of mine favorite artist, her dots and infinite nets are both obsessive and humorous. At the Armory Show I could find her pieces here and there at different galleries. Takeo Hanazawa filled Galley Side 2’s space and Jacob Hashimoto at Mary Boone Gallery.
